Is a private driver worth it in Bali?
For most visitors, yes. Bali has no trains and patchy public transport, ride-hail apps are banned from picking up in many tourist areas, and a private car with a local driver-guide costs less than two separate taxi legs on most day trips. You set the route and the pace, and Adi handles parking, entrance queues and the roads.
How do I pay, and do I need a deposit?
TODO(adi): confirm. Cash in rupiah at the end of the day is the norm. Bank transfer is possible for multi-day packages. No deposit is needed for single day tours.
Do you take cards, or is it cash only?
TODO(adi): confirm. Cash in Indonesian rupiah is standard for day tours. Entrance fees at temples and waterfalls are cash only, so bring small notes; ATMs are easy to find in every town.
Should we tip the driver?
Tipping is not expected in Bali but it is appreciated. If Adi has made your day, a tip of around 10 percent or a round-up at the end is a normal gesture. The mountain guides and porters at Batur and Tulamben rely on tips more than drivers do.
Are the tours suitable for children?
Most are. The car has a child seat on request, the pace is yours, and Adi shortens or swaps stops when small legs get tired. The exceptions are the Mount Batur climb (from about age 8) and the diving day. Tell Adi the children's ages when you book and he will suggest the right days.
How long is a tour day, and what if we run over?
A standard day is up to 10 hours from pickup to drop-off. The tour pages show the typical length. If you want to stay longer somewhere, just say: extra hours are charged at the rate on the pricing page, agreed on the day. TODO(adi): confirm the standard day length.
What is the cancellation policy?
TODO(adi): confirm. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. Same-day cancellations are charged in full unless caused by weather or boat cancellations, in which case Adi offers another date or tour.
What car do you drive and how much luggage fits?
TODO(adi): confirm. A recent air-conditioned Toyota Innova with seats for up to five guests plus Adi. It takes four large suitcases with five passengers; for airport transfers with more luggage, tell Adi and he arranges a larger vehicle.
Why do some tours start so early?
Bali's popular places are busiest between 10 am and 2 pm, and the light and the temperature are better before that. Starting at 6 or 7 usually means empty viewpoints and no queue at the Gates of Heaven. Every start time on this site is a suggestion; Adi will start when you like.
