The classic first day in Bali, done privately and without the queue. Adi grew up here, so the temple etiquette, the offerings and the rice-field walk come with the stories behind them.

Hour by hour

  1. Hotel pickup

    Pickup from Ubud, Sanur, Seminyak, Canggu or Nusa Dua.

    → 30 min drive

  2. Tegalalang Rice Terraces

    Walk the terraces before the heat and the crowds. Adi explains the subak water system.

    Entrance Rp 25.000 pp→ 25 min drive

  3. Tirta Empul Water Temple

    Watch or take part in the purification ritual. Sarongs provided.

    Entrance Rp 75.000 pp→ 30 min drive

  4. Lunch and family compound visit

    Home-cooked lunch in a traditional compound in Adi's village. TODO(adi) confirm.

    → 20 min drive

  5. Goa Gajah or Ubud market

    Your choice for the last stop, then drop-off.

What to bring

Temples are places of worship first. Cover shoulders and knees, keep voices low, never climb on shrines.

If it rains

Rain rarely stops this tour. Adi reorders stops so you are under cover when the afternoon shower comes.
