Why this tour

Mantas the size of a dining table, an hour by boat from Sanur. Adi handles the harbour at both ends so the only thing you have to time is the tide.

Hour by hour

  1. Hotel pickup

    Adi drives you to Sanur harbour.

    → 45 min drive

  2. Sanur harbour, snorkel boat

    Small-group or private boat (TODO(adi)). Gear and guide on board.

    → 60 min drive

  3. Manta Point

    Reef mantas at a cleaning station. Sightings most days, never guaranteed.

    → 20 min drive

  4. Gamat Bay and Crystal Bay

    Two coral gardens with shallow, clear water and many fish.

    → 20 min drive

  5. Lunch on Nusa Penida or Lembongan

    Simple warung lunch, then the boat back.

    → 60 min drive

  6. Sanur harbour

    Adi is waiting and drives you home.

What to bring

  • Swimwear, towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a rash vest
  • Motion-sickness tablets if you need them

Never touch or chase the mantas; keep three metres and let them come to you.

If it rains

Wind decides this trip more than rain. If the harbour master cancels, Adi offers a land day instead at the normal day rate.

Questions about this tour

Do we need to know how to swim?

Basic confidence in the water is enough; life jackets are on board. Tell Adi if anyone is a weak swimmer.
